As a follow up to Unioto families concerning the most recent potential school threat, know that the Ross County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate any and all information related to the incident to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and school district. As a school district, we always communicate all we are legally able to and will provide updates when possible for our families. Every communication we provide in these types of situations is either reviewed by the law enforcement involved, by the school district’s legal counsel, or both. So, please understand we communicate everything we can at the time we do. Also, we involve law enforcement and legal counsel in every single school threat received. Furthermore, I am always available to address concerns from parents or community members via email, phone, or in person. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly with any questions you may have. We always want to do all we can to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and school district. If school is in session, we do not have any evidence to support a viable, credible threat to our school. If we did, we would cancel school. This most recent incident did not involve any students from our school district and has been addressed by law enforcement. Please know, we always work closely with law enforcement to protect the safety of our students and staff. As stated earlier, you can expect additional law enforcement in all of our buildings this week. A special thanks to our local Sheriff’s department for assisting us in these situations. Thank you.

The Ross County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating a potential school threat posted on social media. Apparently, the post has been made about multiple schools in the county. We will work closely with law enforcement to protect the safety of our students and staff. This is an important reminder to our school community that if you hear something, say something. Safety is everyone’s responsibility. We will have additional law enforcement in our schools this week. Thank you.

All call for 4:00 pm today! Our Vision: By inspiring greatness, all students will realize their worth and potential. Our Mission: At Union-Scioto School District, students will learn, lead and make a difference. Our Motto: Today’s Learners, Tomorrow’s Leaders. Unioto Youth Football announcement: Our three JV Flag Football teams play on the HS football field this Wednesday, September 11: 6:30 pm - JV Gold vs JV White 7:30 pm - JV Purple vs Oilers Varsity Flag Football teams will be playing on the HS football field on Wednesday, September 25 at 6:30 pm: Varsity Purple vs Varsity White Students, I read this excerpt from a book the other day and thought I would share it with you. Warren Buffet once observed, “There will never be a better you than you.” Brilliant insight from a brilliant guy. There will never be a better me than me and there will never be a better you than you. Some might try to copy the way you think, speak, and act. But no matter how hard they try, they will only be a second-best you because you are unique. Only one of you is alive today among the billions of people. It makes you stop and think, doesn’t it? It makes you realize you are pretty special. No very special. And that there really isn’t any competition. So today, what will you do with you as you march out into the world? Will you exert more of your potential? Will you uncover more of your authenticity? Will you be more of the you that you are meant to be? Just wondering. Because there will never be a better time to be the best you - than today! Carry your own weather!! Go Tanks!

All call for 4:00 pm today! Our Vision: By inspiring greatness, all students will realize their worth and potential. Our Mission: At Union-Scioto School District, students will learn, lead and make a difference. Our Motto: Today’s Learners, Tomorrow’s Leaders. As expected we had a very smooth and successful opening of the new school year and really enjoyed the first few days and are excited about the days to come! Athletic passes are still available at our administrative building. See Julie Pierce in our treasurer's office. We have had a busy week athletically, with our fall sports season underway! Excited for our band and football team tonight. We welcome Vinton County to the U and expect great things from our team tonight. Parents, we are continuing with the Safe Play Zone and will have our National Honor Society students and advisors managing the area. A special thanks to our sponsors for making this possible for our families: Neil Coleman Insurance, Dave Strickland with State Farm, No Pooling Around, Jim’s Cycle Service, Old Man’s Group (OMG), Dwell Real Estate, Scioto Valley Dumpsters, Dock at Water, ERA Real Estate, All Signs, Printex, Music Masters Djing, Atomic Credit Union Bank, Shine Orthodontics, Junior Civic League, SHP, Jersey Mike’s, Chillicothe Screen and Printing, Unioto Athletic Boosters, Kingston National Bank, and First American Insurance Agency have all sponsored for the season. Thank you, sponsors!! Parents will need to pay/donate $2 per child to participate with those monies supporting our NHS students and program. We hope families appreciate our efforts to provide a safe area for children to play and enjoy their time at the game. This is my annual reminder to our students at the beginning of the year and most of it will apply to anyone else for that matter- remember to bring it each day. Bring your best. Be focused and disciplined. Pay attention in class and be motivated to learn and grow. Listen to your teachers. Listen to your parents. Make good decisions. Decisions that are good for you today. Decisions that are good for you tomorrow and into the future. Anything less than that is cheating yourself two, three, or four years from now. That person deserves the you today to be doing good things for yourself. There is a new you every day and over the days you can become the best you a year from now. Give yourself your best. Nobody else has more of an opportunity to help you than you do. No one knows you better than you. You are responsible for you. So, start with good decisions. Good decisions are good for you. Good for your friends, your family, and for us all. It matters. What you do…matters. It really does. Anything less is a disservice to yourself and those around you. If you don’t learn to do things right and to a high standard and make good decisions, you will get to watch those who do celebrate! So, bring it each day!! 3 days til Monday and Carry your own weather!! Go Tanks!

All parents/guardians (and students if applicable) are encouraged to login to Final Forms to ensure all forms are complete for the 2024-2025 school year. Some forms may have been added over the summer. Final Forms saves data from year-to-year meaning you will never need to enter the same information twice. It also pre-populates information whenever possible, for each of your students, saving you time. Student forms should be kept up -to-date throughout the school year with changes such as contact information, health history, medications, transportation, etc. Maintaining updated information is extremely important so that we have current and accurate information for our students. Thank you for your cooperation! Go Tanks!
