On Friday, October 18, 2024, our district will not be in regular session. Please note this is an adjustment from the current district calendar. This day without students has been set aside to provide time for teachers who will be involved in professional development as well as other scheduled initiatives. School will resume for students on Monday, October 21, 2024.

Middle School One Call Purpose: Choir and Drama Club Meeting tonight at 6pm One call made on September 17th at 11am Good afternoon, This is PJ Fitch, your Unioto Middle School Principal. Attention High School and Middle School Choir and Drama Club Parents: Mr. Elliott will be hosting an informational meeting today, September 17th, at 6:00 PM in the Auditeria for Choir parents to discuss the schedule for performances, concert attire, and the Kings Island Competition. All parents of choir students are encouraged to attend this meeting. Then, at 6:30 PM, an informational meeting regarding Fall and Spring Drama Club will begin in the Auditeria. Schedules and production information will be discussed along with other important information and paperwork. All who wish to participate in Drama Club are expected to attend with parents. As a follow up to Unioto families concerning the most recent potential school threat, know that the Ross County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate any and all information related to the incident to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and school district. As a school district, we always communicate all we are legally able to and will provide updates when possible for our families. Every communication we provide in these types of situations is either reviewed by the law enforcement involved, by the school district’s legal counsel, or both. So, please understand we communicate everything we can at the time we do. Also, we involve law enforcement and legal counsel in every single school threat received. Furthermore, I am always available to address concerns from parents or community members via email, phone, or in person. Please do not hesitate to contact me directly with any questions you may have. We always want to do all we can to ensure the safety of our students, staff, and school district. If school is in session, we do not have any evidence to support a viable, credible threat to our school. If we did, we would cancel school. This most recent incident did not involve any students from our school district and has been addressed by law enforcement. Please know, we always work closely with law enforcement to protect the safety of our students and staff. As stated earlier, you can expect additional law enforcement in all of our buildings this week. A special thanks to our local Sheriff’s department for assisting us in these situations. Thank you.

The Ross County Sheriff’s Department is currently investigating a potential school threat posted on social media. Apparently, the post has been made about multiple schools in the county. We will work closely with law enforcement to protect the safety of our students and staff. This is an important reminder to our school community that if you hear something, say something. Safety is everyone’s responsibility. We will have additional law enforcement in our schools this week. Thank you.

Be focused and disciplined. Pay attention in class and be motivated to learn and grow. Listen to your teachers. Listen to your parents. Make good decisions. Decisions that are good for you today. Decisions that are good for you tomorrow and into the future. Anything less than that is cheating yourself two, three, or four years from now. That person deserves the you today to be doing good things for yourself. There is a new you every day and over the days you can become the best you a year from now. Give yourself your best. Nobody else has more of an opportunity to help you than you do. No one knows you better than you. You are responsible for you. So, start with good decisions. Good decisions are good for you. Good for your friends, your family, and for us all. It matters. What you do…matters. It really does. Anything less is a disservice to yourself and those around you. If you don’t learn to do things right and to a high standard and make good decisions, you will get to watch those who do celebrate! Some forms may have been added over the summer. Final Forms saves data from year-to-year meaning you will never need to enter the same information twice.
