Prom Committee

The Prom Committee plans and coordinates a memorable, inclusive, and safe end-of-year formal dance for the students at the U. This event typically occurs on a Saturday evening in early May, but planning starts in January. Only members of the Junior class can be in this committee.

Quiz Bowl

Four-student teams compete against teams from other schools in a quiz-show style. Students answer questions in several formats on all types of academic topics. All interested students, grades 9-12 are eligible without tryouts. Practices start in October, one day per week after school. Matches are held after school at home or at another county school, with a Saturday tournament in late January. Additional tournament play is possible depending on results of the county meet. The competition is friendly and fun, not cutthroat (usually!!). All attending team members participate in matches. Have fun competing, meet kids from other schools, work together for the team and get even smarter!

Student Council

The primary purpose of the Council is to prepare, organize and serve the student body during several key events throughout the year and as issues present themselves. Monthly meetings are held before or after school and with special meetings as necessary in order to carry out the planning and presentation of the events. The key roles of the Student Council are to organize Homecoming festivities, fall and winter senior athlete/parents' nights, and community service activities; offer and provide scholarships for the student body and support for students and staff facing losses.

Yearbook

The Uniotoan, the Unioto High School yearbook, is an annual publication that aims to capture the athletic, social, and academic stories of the school year. Students must be enrolled in Digital Design in order to design, produce, create, and contribute to the yearbook. If you have an interest in photography, graphic design, typography, storytelling, teamwork, sales, or all of the above, this is a class you don’t want to miss!

Young Patriots

Young Patriots Club is a service organization for students who are interested in history and making a difference. For the 2014-2015 school year, we adopted the VA hospital. We have delivered snacks for Veteran's Day, while shaking hands and thanking the patients for their service to our country. We also delivered hats and gloves during the cold winter. We take an annual field trip. In the past, we have been Behind the Scenes at Hopewell National Culture Park, Ohio Historical Society Museum and have an upcoming visit to the Freedom Center in Cincinnati. The members planned and executed activities at the elementary for History Day and are working at Ohio University this weekend at the district annual History Day.
