Welcome, Unioto students, families, and community members!  My name is P.J. Fitch and I am very excited to be your new middle school principal!  The school board, leadership team, and staff at Union-Scioto Local School District are second to none and I am very proud to be a part of it.  My professional background prior to working in education includes approximately ten years of healthcare administration experience as well as teaching at the university level.  In 2005, I transitioned from healthcare and college education to public education due to my love and passion for helping young people.

Over the past seventeen years, I have served the youth of this area as a chemistry and physics teacher, varsity boys basketball coach, elementary and intermediate school principal, special education supervisor and consultant, assistant high school principal, as well as assistant superintendent/programs director.  And now, I look forward to working hard at the “U” to help others and simply make a difference.  

In preparation for the 2021-2022 school year, Mrs. Gillott and I have been collaborating to assure everything is in order and ready for our students as they return to school.  Many programs, such as the Leader in Me, will continue because they are excellent for our students.  The staff and I will be monitoring and evaluating everything that we do so that we can improve as professionals and better serve our students.  At Unioto, EVERY student will receive a quality education!
